It’s a calcium aluminium garnet first found in Tsavo National Park where it got its name. The name “Tsavorite” actually came from Henry Platt who was the president of Tiffany and Co. He saw this Grossular Garnet with beautiful green color and named it after the Kenyan location of Tsavo East National Park.
